Frequently Asked Questions

Home : Product Information : Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between Andover’s CoFlex Med and Coban?

There is a clinical advantage to using CoFlex Med over Coban. CoFlex Med reduces the potential risk of constriction on the patient. CoFlex Med has a clean-cut hand-tear compared to Coban’s jagged edge. CoFlex Med is stronger and is also more economical because it is generally priced less.

2. What is the difference between Andover’s CoFlex NL and Coban LF?

CoFlex NL is a patented latex-free product; there is no other bandage like this available on the market today. CoFlex NL provides controlled compression, with no risk of constriction. Unlike Coban LF, CoFlex NL tears clean off the roll every time, without the use of scissors and with no offensive odor. CoFlex NL is also generally priced significantly less, making it the more economical choice for today's healthcare professionals.

3. What is the difference between cohesive and adhesive bandages?

A truly cohesive bandage will only stick to itself and not to a surface. An adhesive bandage will stick to a surface and often leaves a residue on the surface when removed.

4. Can Andover’s bandages be sterilized?

Yes. The recommended sterilization method is ETO. CoFlex NL is available to purchase in sterile packaging, in sizes 3", 4", and 6" (tan only).
